At Select & Save, privacy is not an afterthought — it is the core foundation of our architecture. We believe that your web clips, code snippets, notes, and research context should never be collected, sold, or stored on remote cloud servers.

1. Zero Remote Server Storage (100% Local-First)

Local Chrome Storage: All text snippets, Q&A cards, auto-cropped PNG screenshots, custom tag folders, and preferences are saved exclusively inside your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB).
No External Database Sync: Select & Save does not operate remote servers, cloud sync APIs, or user tracking backends.
Full Data Ownership: You retain complete control of your data. Uninstalling the extension permanently removes all local storage files from your machine.

2. On-Device AI Processing (Gemini Nano)

When using AI features to query or summarize your library, execution occurs 100% on-device using Chrome's native Built-in AI (window.ai.languageModel).

4. Optional Telemetry & Analytics

Select & Save includes an optional, anonymous telemetry integration via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) solely to measure performance metrics (e.g. feature usage counts, crash reports).

Strict Guarantee:

Your saved notes, search terms, URLs, text selections, and personal data are NEVER included in telemetry events. You can opt out at any time in Settings.

5. External Search Links (Google, ChatGPT, Claude)

When clicking external action buttons (e.g., "Search on Google", "Ask ChatGPT", "Ask Claude"), your text query is passed directly to the corresponding official website in a new tab. External service privacy policies govern your interactions on those platforms.

6. Chrome Web Store Policy Compliance

Select & Save complies fully with Chrome Web Store Developer Policies:

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade user data to third parties or brokers.
We do NOT monetize user data for targeted advertising.
We do NOT transfer data for credit checks or financial tracking.
