Select & Save vs Omnivore
Never risk losing your digital second brain to cloud service shutdowns again.
Omnivore Platform Shutdown
When cloud services like Omnivore sunset their servers, users face data export headaches and lost highlights. Relying on remote servers means your knowledge base is tied to a company's business lifecycle.
100% Local Browser Storage
Select & Save stores all snippets, Q&A cards, and visual PNG crops inside your local browser hard drive (`chrome.storage.local`). No central cloud backend can ever turn off access to your saved data.
Why Local-First Architecture Matters
1. Permanent Data Safety
Your research lives in your browser. Even if select-and-save.bunnycal.com is offline, your Chrome extension continues working 100% locally.
2. Offline Gemini Nano AI
Perform natural language searches across your library on airplanes or without internet access using Chrome Built-in AI.
